The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) on September 02, 2026, notified the Revised Scale Classification for Financial Matters.
The Board has revised the nomenclature used in its orders, circulars, and guidelines for determining fees, laboratory fees, Environmental Compensation, Bank Guarantees, and other financial matters. Henceforth, “Small Scale” means investment up to ₹10 crore in Plant & Machinery; “Medium Scale” means investment of more than ₹10 crore and up to ₹50 crore; and “Big (Large) Scale” means investment of more than ₹50 crore in Plant & Machinery. This revised nomenclature will apply to relevant existing GPCB orders/circulars/guidelines.
The classification does not apply to GPCB Office Order No. GPCB/0013/09/2026 dated September 1, 2026, titled “Classification of Industries.” In case of any discrepancy or difference in interpretation between the Gujarati and English versions, the Gujarati version will prevail.
